Sally Jane Morris Workman 1946 ~ 2004 Our loving wife, mother, daughter and sister passed away unexpectedly on the morning of April 12, 2004 surrounded by her family.
She was born November 10, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Jack Boyden Morris and Frances May Nielsen. She was married May 18, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple to Richard C. Workman. She had three children whom she loved very much and who adored her.
She was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including: Women's Committee Chairman of Oakcrest LDS Girls Camp, Primary president, Stake Primary president, Stake and Ward Young Women's presidency, Ward Organist and her favorite calling as Primary Pianist. Her influence on the children and young women of the church is immeasurable. Sally will be remembered for her love of music. She was an accomplished pianist and shared this gift often. In her latest calling at Oakcrest Girls Camp, Sally influenced more than 16,000 young women in the Salt Lake Valley. Because of her selfless devotion to her family everyone was drawn to her welcoming spirit. She was the foundation of our tight knit family gatherings. Everyone loved Sally and felt at home and loved in her presence. She supported her husband through two careers as an Air Force Officer and in the family business. She traveled around the world with him and their family. Sally will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Sally is survived by her adoring mother, Frances; loving husband of 37 years and eternal companion, Richard; forever cherished by her children, Jason (Cindy) Workman, Todd Workman, and Tanya (Jeff) Buckwalter; siblings whom she held as her closest friends, Jack (Sherron) Morris, Fred (Sue) Morris, and Susan (Keith) Nielson. She was preceded in death by her dear father Jack Morris and her darling sister, Julie (William) Nuttall.
Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. at the Murray South Stake Center, 5738 South Fashion Blvd. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
