Thank you for visiting this memorial page honoring those who either graduated or would have graduated from Granger High School in 1965. We are honoring as many former classmates as we can find who have passed on. They were our friends, associates, teammates and, in some cases, our lifelong partners and companions. We also honor our veterans and those gallant young men who gave their all, in defense of the country they loved so much. To our MIA, James Schiele, we will never forget you and will continue to look forward to the day your remains are returned to the land of the free, the home of the brave.

Thanks to everyone who helped in the development of this memorial page, especially Diane Day Cooper, who would have graduated a Lancer were it not for her parents relocating their family in 1960. Without her, this would not have been possible. Thom Rich

Diana Hamblin

Our hearts are aching as we mourn the loss of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and best friend, Diana Peatross, age 69. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leon and Ruth Hamblen. Mother of 5 children, grandmother to 15, and great grandmother to 12. Diana truly was the embodiment of what a mother and best friend should be.

Diana will be remembered most for her abundant kindness, love and appreciation of nature, her sense of humor, and her love of all animals.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Leon Hamblen; survived by her brother, Gary (Marilyn) Hamblen; and her children: Denice Black, Brett (Tracy) Black, William (Marnie West) Black, Karlee Justice, and Mikah (David) Triana.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 4:00pm-8:00pm up Mill Creek Canyon at the Terraces Picnic Area; Bowman Fork. Directions: take I-215 to Exit 4 (3900 S.) and go East to Wasatch Blvd. Turn North to 3800 S. At 3800 S. (which becomes Mill Creek Canyon Road) turn East, drive through the neighborhood and up into the canyon. The gated road leading up to the Terraces Picnic Area is located 3.8 miles from the toll booth and it is on the right side of the canyon road as you head up.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in the name of Diana Peatross at America First Credit Union to help the family.

Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.

Diana was my first best friend. Our first names were nearly identical and we both had brothers named Gary. She and I were inseparable for many years and I wish we’d kept in touch.
