Rea Jones

Rea Jean Jones Selvage Betenson, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 25, 2009 in Sandy, Utah.  Born October 8, 1946 in Murray, Utah, daughter of Henry Dean and Faye Fryrear Jones. Married Dennis Edward Selvage; later divorced. 

She loved cooking, giggling, sewing and enjoyed collecting memories and friends. 

Survived by children: Jason (Angela) Selvage, Stacy Kirkman, Kimberly (Phil) Henderson; grandchildren: Zack, Tyler, Nick, Bryton, Chase and Josh; sisters: Deana (Larry) Banks and Bobbi (Steve) Wynn. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Friday, March 27, 2009, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.

Terry Crowther

Terry Ray Crowther, age 61, died suddenly on March 12, 2009.

Terry was born on July 5, 1947 to Doyce and Darlyne Christensen Crowther in Mt Pleasant, UT. He lived in Moroni, UT until the age of 12 when his family moved to Kearns. He always called Sanpete County his second home.

Terry married Jo Ann (Jody) Motis on September 3, 1970. They were later divorced, but remained best friends. Graduating from Granger High School in 1965 he attended Snow College and Utah State University, and then served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the LDS church. He worked for Pollard Inc., Schocker Construction, and Staker Paving and was currently employed at Redmond Minerals. He loved his job and being captain of the houseboat. Terry loved to golf, ski, hunt and camp with friends. He was a very hard worker and practical jokester. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. He loved playing with his grand-daughters. They dearly miss their Papa Terry. We will always miss his smile!

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Anthony) deGreef; best friend and companion, Jody; mother, Darlyne; sister, Rolayne (Todd) Bruse; brothers, Robbie (Linda), Ricky; granddaughters, Grace and Zoe deGreef. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyce.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday March 18, 2009 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens and again from 10-11 a.m.prior to the funeral. Linda Waters

"We'll Miss You Mom" Lynda J. Nichols Reber of Salt Lake City passed away February 2, 2009.

Beloved daughter of Melvin H. Waters and Joyce A. Bell Waters (Heidrich), Lynda was known as "Lynn" to most friends. She was born July 1, 1947 in Salt Lake City. She married Paul M. Nichols April 28, 1964, and had three children, Leisa G. Nichols Shouse, Chris C. Nichols Nelson (Eric) and Michael S. Nichols; later divorced.

Lynda grew up in Salt Lake City, but moved to Arlington, Texas in 1979 and started a painting and sandblasting company. She was an avid driven business owner and loved the rewards of hard work. She returned to Salt Lake City in 1990 and continued to run her business. She loved the LDS Church, teaching Sunday school, spoiling her children and grandchildren, and her work. 

Preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Steven Waters. Survived by her children; four grandchildren, Zakary and Cody Shouse (Springtown, TX); and Lyndsey C. Nichols and Coltyn D. Nelson (Salt Lake City); two sisters, Pamela Ogaard and Karla Smith; four brothers, Gene Waters, Gary Waters, Scott Waters and Russ Waters, all of Salt Lake City; and two dogs, Peanut and Cookie.

She was a savvy businesswoman who excelled at leadership and was always willing to help those in need, often at great sacrifice to herself. She loved spring, summer picnics, the Wasatch Mountains and the sprawling valley. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cottonwood Acres Ward, 981 E. Revere Circle (5550 South). Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday prior to services. David Hofeling

David Earl Hofeling 1946 ~ 2009 David Earl Hofeling passed away January 27, 2009.  He was born December 25, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edwin Eugene and Mildred Ames Hofeling. 

David attended Plymouth Elementary in Taylorsville and Valley Jr. High School, Granger High School, the University of Utah and Westminster College. He received an MBA from Westminster in 1991. He served in the US Army. David preferred a solitary life.

Survived by his four brothers: Gene (Jerrie) Hofeling, Ed (Lee) Hofeling, Don (Pat) Hofeling and Jack Hofeling; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kelly Hofeling. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held Monday, 12-2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Randy Williams

LAYTON – On July 24, 2008 we lost the most wonderful man in our lives. Rand W. Williams passed away from Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer, at his home in Layton, Utah.

Rand was born in Price, Utah on January 17, 1947 to Robert P. and Geraldine Williams and was the eldest of four children. Rand graduated from Granger High School in Granger , UT in 1965. He also graduated from the Community College of the Air Force and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Utah.

Rand married Helen Darlene Cox in 1968 (later divorced) and they had two of the most beautiful daughters in the world, Mindy Leigh (Darrin) Roberts of Clearfield, UT and Cindy Lynn (Brett) Dickerson of South Jordan, UT.

Rand married MaryAnn Haskell (later divorced) and they had two wonderful sons Robert Mitchell and Rand Dylan Williams of Roy, UT. Rand loved his children with all his heart and they meant the world to him.

Rand met the love of his life, Valerie Westphal, and they married in June, 2004. From this union, Rand gained three more sons with Val’s boys. Roque, Rodney and Jesse Westphal. He also loved his grandkids Ryan, Karin, Mike Chris, Jeff, Conner, Cambri, Kaleb, Kylee, Jack, Jayden and the twins on the way. He especially loved giving them all a hard time.

Rand began his lifelong career at Hill AFB in 1971. He worked his way up from mechanic to Branch Chief of the F-16’s and C-130’s. When he retired in 2004 he was the Branch Chief of the A-10 program. Rand also retired from the US Air Force Reserve as Master Sergeant.

Survived by his wife, Children, sister; Laurie (Steve) Sowby and Paula (Rand) Prince, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Robin.

The family would like to thank their friends and family for their tremendous support during this time. We love you all, very special thanks goes to Vickie for all the help and just being there.

John Solomon

John Solomon Loving father, grandfather, brother and friend passed from this world March 2nd, 2008 in San Jose, California. He was born February 14, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ken and Marjorie Solomon.

John was an experienced pilot who loved all things related to flight. He enjoyed movies and music, his family and his friends. John was a master mechanic who worked throughout the Bay Area, both for dealerships and his own businesses. When the time came to retire his wrench, he found an interesting and intriguing job as an insurance investigator. John also loved all things electronic and was always the first person on the block to have the latest technological innovation.

He was proud of his country and was decorated for his service in Vietnam.

John was preceded in death by his second wife, Joy Solomon. (Machado). He is survived by his children: Glenn, Ken, Wendy, their loving mother Lynne, daughter Lori, his sisters Eileen and Jan, and his brother Rick, his inlaws Dick Machado, Mike Machado and Gay Stewart, and his grandchildren Gabriel, Rachel, Jaden, Jackson and Holly.

John was loved and admired for his positive personality, outrageous sense of humor and the ability to greatly impact the lives of everyone around him. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy of friendship and community involvement with the Kinship Resource Center and the Big Daddys group. Our family would like to thank John's life long friends Tom Law and John Manukyan for their companionship and devotion to him throughout his life. John Solomon will truly be missed by many.

Mark Healey

After battling pancreatic cancer for nearly three years, Mark C. Healey died peacefully at Logan Regional Hospital on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, surrounded by his immediate family. He was 60 years old. Mark was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Calvin E. and Frances M. Healey on March 7, 1947. He attended the local public schools and graduated from Granger High School in 1965.

He spent six years serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Mark believed in scientific inquiry to pursue knowledge and truth. He received BS and MS degrees from the University of Utah (Biology) and a PhD degree from Purdue University (Parasitology). After working 18 months as a Lecturer at Texas A&M University, Mark attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University where he graduated with the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) in 1981. He immediately accepted a faculty position at Utah State University (USU) where he remained employed until his death.

For the first 17 years at USU, Mark and his many graduate students did research on animal and human parasites. He taught biology and pre-veterinary science courses to a variety of undergraduate and graduate students. For the past nine years, Mark served as the Head of the Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences (ADVS). His administrative motto was to treat every employee with civility, respect and fairness. He particularly enjoyed facilitating the career advancement of his fellow colleagues, which he believed was the key to being a successful administrator. Mark considered the ADVS Department to literally be an extension of his family. Prior to his death, he established the Mark C. and Jo Ann W. Healey Scholarship Quasi-Endowment Fund for all eligible ADVS student majors.

On June 20, 1969, Mark married his high school sweetheart (Jo Ann Wade) in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 38 years and had three children. Mark and Jo Ann always considered their children to be their greatest accomplishment. Rachelle (Allen) Wright teaches elementary school at the South Thomas Edison Charter School in Cache Valley. Jeffrey is doing a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Christopher is a medical student at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Mark was an avid fisherman for most of his life. His brother (Terry) and sister (Susan), along with two of his best fishing buddies (Mark and Dick) spent many summer months hiking, camping and fishing throughout the Uinta and Wind River Mountains. Baseball was another of his passions. His sons (Jeff and Chris) played in all of the youth leagues in Cache Valley. Jeff went on to play American Legion baseball and later played with the Smithfield Blue Sox for four consecutive years after graduating from high school. Mark and Jo Ann rarely ever missed a game.

Mark is survived by his loving wife; three children; and his brother and sister. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Drs. Dirk Davis, Mark Ott and Ali Ben-Jacob and staff for the professional services and compassion they extended to Mark during his lengthy illness.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E. 400 North, Logan, Utah. Friends and family may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services. Victor Romero

Our big fish, Victor Richard Romero passed away February 28, 2007 because his heart was too big.

Born August 16, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Victor and Lupe Varoz Romero. Victor graduated from Granger High School. He loved his country and served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and the Gulf War. 

He married Frankie Baird Romero and they have five wonderful children, who love their dad, Sherina, Eric (Erica), Michelle, Arron, and Daddy's baby girl (the caboose), Gina (Nick) Sadler. He was proud of all his children and had the most fun with his six grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; mother, Lupe; brothers, Larry and Jerry (Gayle); sisters, Carol Romero, Tandra (Steve) McGeeney, and Anna (Pete) Kearns; and many good friends from the Post Office and Navy. Preceded in death by his father, and many special in-laws. 

Our family gives special thanks to West Valley paramedics, all the nurses and doctors at Pioneer Valley ER and ICU, Jordan Valley ICU, VA Hospital, and Community Nursing and Hospice who kept him with us as long as possible with loving care. 

Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2840 South 9000 West, Magna. Friends and family may call Monday 6-7 p.m. at the church where a prayer service will follow at 7 p.m. Private interment.

Dianne Wilson

Dianne Hardy Madrigal 1947 ~ 2006 Mary Dianne Wilson, 59, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 18, 2006. She was born on March 26, 1947, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Charles and Jean Wilson. She moved to West Valley City, Utah, when she was 8. Dianne graduated Granger High in 1965.

She married Michael Hardy in 1964; together they had four children, one of which died at birth. They were married 24 years. In 1996 she married Rufino Madrigal. Their union gave her three additional sons. Together they had 13 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. When asked what they remember about Grandma Dianne, "candy and an occasional dollar; but always a hug." Her door was always open to a surprise visit from family and friends.

She was a member of the FOE #3285 (Granger) for 20 years. She served as Madame President and Madame Past President. She competed in the annual chili cook off, where she won state twice. Dianne had a 35 year career in collections for a variety of companies including First Security, American Savings, and Fairbanks. She was good at her job and was an assert to every company she worked for.

Mom taught each of us kids to work hard and be passionate about what we did. She was a kind, caring, and giving individual. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Dianne is survived by her husband, Rufino; children Kaylynne Bischoff, Julie Hardy (Chris Anderson), Kenneth Hardy (Kristie Larson); step children Shane Madrigal (Shelly), Tony Madrigal (Jenilyn) and Matt Madrigal (Susan); grandchildren Kinnedy, Michael, and Jesse Hardy; 10 step grandchildren; her mother, Jean; brothers James Wilson (Mary) and Alan Wilson (Marsha); sisters Janet Wilson (Roger) and Sue Wilson; Close friends Owen "Squirt" Madsen, Cathy Harmon, and Jill Kuehnl. Preceded in death by her father, one sister, and son, Steven Hardy.

Jim Crosby

James Barlow Crosby, 58, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2005, of cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Pamela, daughters, Jamie Davis (Scott), Katie Barker (Dirk), granddaughters, Samantha, Kayla and Madison, and his pal Winston. 

Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps representing his country during the Vietnam War. He worked in many professions; as a coalminer, a motion picture film distributor, a Salt Lake City Police Officer, a travel agent, and finalized his career as a licensed Clinical Social Worker. He attended Westminster College for his undergraduate degree and received his Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Utah. 

Jim would've liked to stay longer, but he understood that it was time to continue his spiritual journey. He reminds us, "Honor each moment of your life, and lovingly remember all those who have been part of it." 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held the prior evening, Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at the same location. Denny Payne

Dennis Clark Payne, 57, passed away May 23, 2005.

He was born August 2, 1947 in Pueblo, Colorado to George and Elma Payne.

He retired from the Air National Guard after 20 years of service.

Dennis is survived by his sons, Jeff and Shane Payne; daughter, Raquel Fieldsted; eight grandchildren; and his brother, Marty Payne.

Memorial services and interment will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, June 1st at Veterans Memorial Cemetery chapel, 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale.

Feb. 8 1947 – Mar. 22, 2005

A celebration of life and memorial service was held at the Branford Hospice Center in Connecticut. Craig was a quiet, gentle, and caring spirit: he was dearly loved by his wife, Joan Rossignol and his children Tony, Kimberly and Colleen, his two brothers, Scott and Kent and his sister Jo Anna

After the memorial, Craig’s cremation remains were transported to his final resting place, at the New Metamoras Cemetery in Ohio.

We are sadder but rejoiced in your new Heavenly call, as you won your freedom from melanoma’s pain. You have earned a choice spot in Heaven and your welcoming party of many family included your mother, Lorna (Joy) Hermansen, two brothers, Cory and Karl.

Walk in peace Craig, a proud 1965 graduate of Granger High School, our loss is Heaven’s gain, pave the way for us, we can’t wait for the big party we will have, when we are all together again.

Cheryl Phillips

Cheryl Beth Phillips 2/16/47 ~ 3/22/05 Cheryl, 58, passed away Mar. 22, 2005. She fought the devastating effects of MS for 25 years.

Born Feb. 16, 1947 to Dennis and Bernice Phillips. Cheryl loved the mountains, dancing, sports, her pets, her daughter Nikoal and spending time with family and friends.

Survived by daughter, Nikoal Phillips, father Dennis, brothers and sisters, Pat (Richard) Craven, Brent Phillips, Roger (Sue) Phillips, Neil (Lori) Phillips, Denice (Jeff) Walker, Kirk (Julie) Phillips, Patsy Steed. Preceded in death by her mother.

Graveside services will be held Sat. March 26, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1700 E. 10600 E. Larry Warner

Larry Raymond Warner 10/7/1944 ~ 03/2/2005 Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, all around good guy and protector, Larry Raymond Warner, left this earth to be reunited with his dearly missed father (Papa) and mother (Nana) on March 2nd, 2005.

Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, October 7, 1944 to Robert and Sylvia Warner. A graduate of Granger High School, dad spent several years as a skilled sheet metal worker employed by CCI and then continued to pursue his main interest in law enforcement. He started in the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office Reserves, worked many years with the Granite Police Department and finished his law enforcement career as an officer with the South Salt Lake Police Department. He was a dedicated Police Officer and had an uncanny knack for being in the right place at the right time. He intervened and stopped numerous armed robberies saving lives.

Dad never had a lot of money but was always generous with a joke, a smile and a helping hand to those who needed it. Dad loved children and had many interests and hobbies including fishing, antique automobile restoration, Harley Davidson motorcycles and treasure hunting. Dad will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, Joseph Scott Warner (Sonja, Alisha, Justin); granddaughter, Megan Lee Warner; brother, Robert Scott Warner (Genean); sisters, Shirley Ann Olsen, Donna W. Long and (Fred) and three beloved nephews and six nieces.

The family would like to express their utmost thanks to the Woodland Care Center and staff for the love and care they provided to Dad.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery on March 7, 2005.

Gregory Kent Hill 1947 ~ 2004  Our loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, Gregory Kent Hill, age 57, passed away August 15, 2004.

Born May 21, 1947 to William J. and Jeanne Deverall Hill in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survived by his parents; daughters: Niniever Litster, and Wendy Hill; brothers, Randy, Kevin, Douglas, Jed and Russell; sister, Hollie Withers; three grandchildren. Preceded in death by sister, Heidi.

Peggy Brown

Peggy Brown Forgy, beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away quietly August 4, 2004. She was born on July 4, 1947 the daughter of Richard Ray Brown and Geneva Faith Phillips.

Peggy grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from Granger High School. She devoted most of her earlier life to raising and supporting her three children. After her children were grown, she continued to work and became a real estate agent in Utah. This led to a career as an advertising account executive that allowed her to travel extensively. Due to her career, Peggy lived in Alaska for several years before settling in Reno, Nevada in 1999. Despite the many physical challenges she endured, she continued to work and was always very thoughtful and generous with her family and friends.

Peggy was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She felt her children and her grandchildren were her greatest loves and her fun, outgoing personality will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her three children and their spouses; Chris (Holly) Sundstrom of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kelli (Eric) Coughanour of Richland, Washington; Lisa (Art) Davis of Salt Lake City, Utah; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 1p.m. at the Walnut Hills LDS Chapel located at 5938 W. 6200 S. Kearns, UT. Doug Paxton

Douglas Calvin Paxton A Great Dad 1947 ~ 2004  Douglas Calvin Paxton died June 1, 2004 at home from pancreatic cancer. 

He was born September 7, 1947 in Salt Lake City to Calvin Nilson Paxton and June Meyers Paxton.

Graduated from Granger High School. Attended the University of Utah where he was a member of the Men's Chorus, ROTC, and Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Doug sang with the Oratorio Society for several years and was a long time member of the Holladay Gun Club. He was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Western Canadian Mission from 1968-70. Retired U.S. Postal Service.

What Doug enjoyed most was spending time with his two sons. His hobbies included hunting, caring for pets, listening to good music and entertaining children.

Survived by his mother, June, Taylorsville; sons, Ben Eugene (Juli), Baltimore, Maryland, and John Douglas, Sandy; sister-in-law Barbara, Salt Lake City; and Luciano Catarotti (his cat). Preceded in death by his father; brother, Gary; and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. There will be a viewing prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery. Shirley Maxwell

Shirley Darlene Hansen Loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, and Grandmother  Shirley D. Hansen passed away at her brother's home in West Valley City May 14, 2004 of a lingering illness.

She was born November 16, 1946 in Salt Lake City. She attended Granger High School and graduated in 1965. For many years she worked in restaurant management throughout the valley and the last several years she worked as Property Manager for the Bangerter Hendrickson Corporation. She was a hard worker and loved people. She always went all out in celebrating holidays and family gatherings.

She is survived by her daughters, Tonya Carter and Deborah Carter both of West Valley City; mother, Paula L. Elliott of West Valley City; sisters, Karen L. Mott of West Valley City, and Sharon Daugaard of Duchesne; brothers, Morris L. Maxwell of Reno, NV, Clair A. Farley of Dallas, Texas, and Ralph P. Maxwell of West Valley City; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her father, Morris I. Maxwell; and sister, Frances J. Nalder.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 18that 12 noon at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Rd., West Jordan. She will be dearly missed by all.

Sally Morris

Sally Jane Morris Workman 1946 ~ 2004  Our loving wife, mother, daughter and sister passed away unexpectedly on the morning of April 12, 2004 surrounded by her family. 

She was born November 10, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Jack Boyden Morris and Frances May Nielsen. She was married May 18, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple to Richard C. Workman. She had three children whom she loved very much and who adored her.

She was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including: Women's Committee Chairman of Oakcrest LDS Girls Camp, Primary president, Stake Primary president, Stake and Ward Young Women's presidency, Ward Organist and her favorite calling as Primary Pianist. Her influence on the children and young women of the church is immeasurable. Sally will be remembered for her love of music. She was an accomplished pianist and shared this gift often. In her latest calling at Oakcrest Girls Camp, Sally influenced more than 16,000 young women in the Salt Lake Valley. Because of her selfless devotion to her family everyone was drawn to her welcoming spirit. She was the foundation of our tight knit family gatherings. Everyone loved Sally and felt at home and loved in her presence. She supported her husband through two careers as an Air Force Officer and in the family business. She traveled around the world with him and their family. Sally will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Sally is survived by her adoring mother, Frances; loving husband of 37 years and eternal companion, Richard; forever cherished by her children, Jason (Cindy) Workman, Todd Workman, and Tanya (Jeff) Buckwalter; siblings whom she held as her closest friends, Jack (Sherron) Morris, Fred (Sue) Morris, and Susan (Keith) Nielson. She was preceded in death by her dear father Jack Morris and her darling sister, Julie (William) Nuttall.

Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. at the Murray South Stake Center, 5738 South Fashion Blvd. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral at 10:30 am. Bonnie Bennett Wenerstrom

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Friend  Bonnie Wenerstrom found peace at last March 17, 2004 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born July 17, 1947 in Green River, Wyoming to Allen and Leona Bennett. Married Bill Wenerstrom, April 18, 1965.

She loved people and was an avid sports fan, especially BYU. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, and enjoyed helping people. She lived for her grandkids and family.

She is survived by her husband; father; children, Rhonda (Jim) Bolster, Scott (Shannon), Stephanie (Matt) Schrom; seven grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters. Preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 20th, 12:00 noon at the Mesa Park Ward, 1850 E. 8600 So. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary 6500 S. Redwood Road, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Terry Brown

Terry Don Brown 3/23/47 ~ 2/24/04  Born to Donald Kenneth Brown and Jennie Ruth Watson Brown. Terry left us February 24, 2004 in his wife's arms. He faced cancer, fought the good fight and did things his way.

He proudly served his country in Vietnam. He married Jill Tennant February 3, 1979. He was an avid hunter, raised ringneck pheasants and loved the outdoors. Terry graduated from Trade Tech and became a journeyman welder.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Jill Brown; brothers, Dennis Brown and Kelly Brown; sister, Carolyn Arellano; his children: Dawn Lynn, Tiffany, Don Kenneth, Annette and Christina. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pete Brown.

Memorial services will be held Friday, February 27, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004 at the Hinckley Cemetery, Hinckley, Utah.

Terry Marshall Peay 1946 ~ 2003  Terry Marshall Peay, our loving son, brother, husband, dad and "Papa" returned to his family in heaven on July 28, 2003, due to complications from diabetes.

To Terry, his family was his greatest legacy and joy in life. Every moment spent will be with us forever.

Larry Hogan

Our loving father, grandpa, son, brother and friend, Larry Dale Hogan, died September 2, 2002 in South Jordan, Utah. Born August 20, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Dale Brock and Geraldine Larrabee Hogan. Married Lee Mecham; later divorced. Married Sharon Nugent.

He was a wonderful father and grandfather and would do anything to help anyone. He found great joy in fixing and taking care of things around the house and neighborhood. Traveling was his passion.

Survived by daughters, Mindy Lee Hogan and Jennifer Lynne (Brandon) Woolston; two grandsons that he adored; sisters, Doris (Fred) Christensen; Peggy (Glen) Wendel.

Rulen Brent Blood was born November 7, 1946 in Panguitch, UT to Rulen Dale and Virginia Aleen Torgersen Blood.

Brent married Leslie Rae Munk on August 30, 1968 in Salt Lake City, UT.  He later married Sheryl Ann Waters May 25, 1985 in Richfield, UT.  Brent had five children: Nathan, Jace, Marcus, Haley and Alec.  His father preceded him in death.

Brent died on August 13, 2001 in Salt Lake City, UT from leukemia.  He is buried in the Richfield City Cemetery, in Richfield, UT. 

Larry Bodily

Larry C. Bodily, age 54, passed away July 1, 2001.

Larry was born Jan. 10, 1947 in Vernal, Utah to Sterling Bodily and Reva Hall Bodily. He married Judy Pierce on November 24, 1972 and July 26, 1986. He loved to fish, hunt, boat, golf, and was always there for his family and for anyone who needed him.

The family that loved him is: his wife, Judy; son, Rick (Liz) Bodily, and their children, Ashley, Tyler, Tory and little Ricky; daughters, Michelle (Dale) Arden and their children, Josh Bodily Arden and Tayler; Jodi (Paul) Rueckert and their children, Mickinzie, Mickaela, and due in August, Michael Adam. Tiffany (Mark) Howe and their child, Joshua; sisters and brothers, Renae Ormsby, Vance Bodily, Cleo and Otis Nielsen, Verdin and Eve Bodily.

David Lynn Alder, 53 made a peaceful journey from his home in South Jordan Monday, Oct. 23, 2000. Born Jan. 26, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Bertrand V. Alder and Beverly Jean Madsen.

Married Candice Dana Sept. 18, 1981 in West Valley City.

David loved to go hunting, fishing, camping and his Chevy Truck.

Survived by his wife, Candice; children, David Steven, Julie A., Steve (Jayme) Nielsen Jr.; Jason G. Nielsen, Jacob R. Andrews, Derek Lynn; granddaughter, Brittany; brothers and sisters, Walter; William, Suzie, Nancy, Mary Raylene. Preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Graydon Harker and Staff for their time, trust and compassion.

Tom Trujillo

Thomas Arthur Trujillo was born May 31, 1946 in Trinidad, CO to Charles Alvero and Irene Tafoya Trujillo and had four siblings.

Tom enlisted in the US Marines on Feb. 16, 1966 and was discharged on December 20, 1967.

Tom married in 1968 and divorced in 1982. He married Georgina Danielle Jones on January 12, 1983 in Salt Lake County, UT.  He later married Christene Aumick on July 28, 1990.

Tom passed away on October 9, 2000 in Salt Lake City, UT.  Tom is buried in the Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello. ID.

Gary married Karen Kay Nielson on Oct. 4, 1972 in Salt Lake City, UT. 

Gary passed away on April 19, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV.  He was survived by his wife and son Greg.

Sandra Carlson

Sandra Jeanne Carlson was born August 26, 1947 in Murray, UT, a daughter of Alma Lamar Walters and Beverly Jeanne Mackie.

On December 29, 1966 she married Eddie Philip Walter; their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on July 20, 1990.

She enjoyed doing crafts and sewing projects.  She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Sandra passed away on March 5, 2000 in Roy, UT from heart disease.  

Surviving are her husband, Eddie Walter; one son, Dustin (Dana) Walter, Clinton; one daughter, Nicole (Allan) Dressler, Ogden; and two grandchildren, Jake and Jesse Walter.  Also surviving are five brothers and five sisters.  She was preceded in death by her two-day-old son, Norman Eugene Walter in 1971.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2000, 11:00 AM at the Roy 4th Ward building, 2100 W 5300 S, Roy, Utah where friends may call one hour prior to services.  Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Leavitt's Mortuary, 838 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.  Interment  at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden, UT.  

John Brakey

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, John Raymond Brakey, passed away Nov. 15, 1999 of heart failure.

He was born Dec. 3, 1945 to Walter Raymond and Vira May Brakey, he was one of nine boys.  He graduated from Granger High and joined the military, where he served overseas during the Vietnam War. John married his high school sweetheart, Minette Isbell on June 20, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked throughout his life in the youth program of the church, serving as Young Men's president and his final position was as ward clerk, which he served faithfully until his passing, despite his many health problems. Never one to complain, he was an example to all as how to live your life and endure to the end. He touched many people and will not be easily forgotten. The ultimate family man, he devoted his whole life to the service of his family and his Savior.

John is survived by his loving eternal companion; children, Dena, Troy (Julie), Ryan (Jenny) and Amee; five grandchildren; brothers, Dean Whiting, Glen, Roy and Barry. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Lloyd, Jerry, Pat and Bob.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, 12 noon at the Kearns 24th Ward, 5905 So. 4000 West. The family will receive friends at a viewing Thurs., Nov. 18th at 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the service at Kearns 24th Ward.

Richard Johnson

Our beloved son, brother, uncle and dad was born on July 17, 1947 in Murray, Utah passed away tragically on July 9, 1999 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident while traveling through Idaho.

Rick graduated from Granger High School in 1965 followed by a four year stint in the U.S. Navy. He worked most of his life as a professional truck driver; his last employment was at Wall Street Distribution in Salt Lake City. In 1995 he moved to Twin Bridges, Montana where his heart belonged.

Rick was of LDS faith, loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, gold panning, and swap meets. 

He is survived by his mother, Norma J. Phillips, West Valley; (John) Connie Robinson, Richfield; (George) Leslee Ellis, Magna; Joe L. Phillips Jr. (Cindy), Rock Springs; (Greg) Janet Lord, Houston; four stepchildren: Jamie, Lynn, Jerrod and Bryan; numerous nephews and nieces; grandfather, Glenn Hanson; many close friends, co-workers and the "Bird." Preceded in death by his father, Cholis J. Johnson and four other grandparents.

Graveside services will be held Thursday July 15, at 12 noon, at Redwood Memorial Estates (6500 South Redwood Road); where friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates.

Rick will be remembered in our hearts forever and always.

Larry Didericksen

Larry Eugene Didericksen, son, husband, father, grandpa and friend, passed away July 13, 1998, of natural causes.

He was born June 17, 1947 to Eugene M. and Grace Elwood Didericksen in Ogden, Utah. Larry was a member of the LDS Church and had served a mission to Australia. He married Gaylene A. Sorensen, August 16, 1968.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Steven, David, Robert (Stacy) and Trent (Steph); daughter, Cherylee; grandchildren, Kelsie and Shane; parents; brothers, Dan (Sharon); Devron (Karen); sister, Kathy (Kim); and many friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 18, 1998 at 12 noon in the Bingham Creek 8th LDS Ward, 8825 S. 1095 W. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

Richard Farmer

Richard Everett Farmer died April 5, 1998 on a beautiful Palm Sunday morning at his home.

He was born January 27, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Veown and Wallace E. Farmer.

He graduated from Granger High School with a sports scholarship to the University of Utah. He was a graduate of the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years.

He married Joan Anderson on April 14, 1969. They shared three children, Christian Farmer and twins, Melissa and Michelle Farmer. Later divorced. Married Petra "Brandy" Jensen on December 7, 1985.

Richard was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church at Easter Vigil Mass in April of 1996. He renewed his matrimonial vows to Brandy at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on March 31, 1996.

Richard was a loving husband and father, son and brother. His family always came first. He was a faithful servant of the Lord, which gave him tremendous courage with his fight against cancer. He had a love of books, the arts, philosophy and theology. He enjoyed sports and travel and lived his personal life with a passion.

He is survived by his wife, Petra "Brandy" Farmer; his children, Melissa, Michelle and Christian Farmer; parents, Veown and Wallace Farmer; sister, Linda (Jerry) Good; step-children, Angela Jensen and John Gabriel DeLira; and grandchildren, Jaden Richard Farmer and Holly R. Jensen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Mitchell.

A special thanks to Doctors Litton, DiFiore and Felix.

Jack Byrge

Our beloved son, father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, Jacky Ray Byrge, passed away August 5, 1997, due to complications of diabetes.

Born May 26, 1947 in Standardville, Utah, to John and Olga "Cookie" Byrge. Married Margaret Dugger October 15, 1966, later divorced. Married Kara Johnson, May 11, 1997. He graduated from Granger High School in 1965. Earned his journeyman welder certification at Trade Tech. and was medically retired from Kennecott Copper after 22 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, family and especially his grandchildren.Jack fought a long courageous battle against many painful illnesses associated with his diabetes and finally died with dignity, having made the difficult decision to fight no more. Jack had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He will always be in our hearts and minds and we will never forget him. We will always love you.

He is survived by mother, Cookie; wife, Kara; children, John (Michelle) Byrge, Becky (Shane) Workman; stepdaughter, Emily "LuLu"; grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Ashlee, and one expected in four weeks; brother, Johnny (Marie) Byrge; sisters, Judy (Kim) Bench, Jan (Mike) Criquelion; many loved nieces and nephews; and special brother, Larry Dugger. Preceded in death by his father John Byrge.

David Fackrell

David Nolan Fackrell, 50, formerly of American Fork, died April 7, 1997 in Provo after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Mar. 11, 1947 in Salt Lake City to David Max and Vonetta Hardman Fackrell. He attended Granger High School; received a bachelor's degree from Utah State University and an Associate's degree from the University of Utah. He served an LDS mission in France and Switzerland.

He married Marla Sue Argyle June 26, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

David was active in the Scouting program and also served in the Elder's Quorum.

He worked in the Fur Industry; served on the National Fur Commission. He loved fishing, riding his horse and spending time with his family. He also had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 27 years, Marla, two sons and a daughter, Quin, Aime, and Clint, all of Pleasant Grove; his parents, David Max and Vonetta Fackrell, and a brother, Brent (Lorraine) Fackrell, all of Highland; five sisters, Diana Poulsen, Lehi; Pamela (Mac) Adamson, Sandy; Maurine Barlow, Sandy; Sharon (Rick) Brocious, Highland. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lori Ann Fackrell.

Kerry Allen

Kerry Lynn Allen was born April 14, 1947 in Delta, UT to Vaughn and Mildred Keele Allen.  He married Barbara Joy Maxwell on June 11, 1969 and divorced in 1993. 

Kerry passed away on June 20, 1996 at the age of 49 and is buried in St. George, UT  He was survived by his parents and daughter, Katrina Allen.  His six-year-old daughter, Elizabeth Amanda (Mandy) Allen, preceded him in death August 4, 1989 .  Kerry’s younger brother, Randall V. Allen passed away in 1994.

Jim Coombs

Jimmy Dean Coombs, 49, of Manassas, Virginia, died June 14, 1996 in Brunswick, Georgia.

He was born August 2, 1946 in Moroni, Utah to Morris William and Bessie Sophia Jensen Coombs.He served 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including 3 tours in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart. He was a proud veteran. Later he was a detachment commander of Marine security guards at U.S. embassies in Bonn, Germany and Warsaw, Poland. After his service he joined the Dept. of State with the Diplomatic Security Service as a security training specialist. He was a member of the VFW, serving as vice commander.

He married Sharon Barr on October 2, 1970 bin Reno, Nevada. He was a loving father and beloved husband.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two children, Jimmy Dean "J.J." Coombs, Jr. and Ronalie Coombs, both of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Mark Kay (RaNae) Coombs of Moroni; and Gordon (Tushain) Everts of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Inez (Ernie) Clayton of LaVerkin, and Lula Kirkman of Kearns. He was preceded in death by his father, Morris and mother and stepfather, Bessie and Adolph Everts.

Carl Kenner

Carl Joseph Kenner, 48, died January 5, 1996, at his home in Eureka, Utah.

Born September 3, 1947 in Murray, Utah to Scipio LeRay and Beverly Barrett Kenner. Married Cindy Lou Martinez in Elko, Nevada, on July 5, 1992. He was a highly decorated Marine who served three tours of duty in Vietnam. He loved the outdoors, his family and friends. He was generous and would help anyone in need.

George Ashdown

George Hopkins Ashdown, age 47, passed away June 24, 1993 in St. George, UT.  He was born February 22, 1946 in Las Vegas NV to Ray and Milda Hopkins Ashdown.  He married Janice Elaine Tull on May 28, 1977 in Victorville, CA.  He served in the US Navy and was a member of the VFW.

He loved the outdoors and the mountains.  George was a hard working man and a loving husband and brother. 

He is survived by his wife of Greenville, UT, sons, Michael and Robert Ashdown both of Riverside, CA.  Foster parents Roy and Joyce Harris of Kearns, UT.  Brothers Jim Ashdown of Beaver, Jerry Yak of Sandy and Bill Hackler of Vernal.  sisters Jane Massey of Bloomington, CA, Beverly Edwards of Rock Springs, WY and Marie McCallister of Draper.  

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 28, 1993 at the Greenville LDS Ward chapel at 1:00 PM.  Friends may call at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Monday.  Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary.

Lance Robards

My significant other, whom I shared my life with, our adopted brother and son, Richard Lance Robards, passed away today, Sept. 13, 1992, in Salt Lake City, at the age of 45. He will be missed by all who knew him because he was loved.

Born August 10, 1947, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Chester A. and Thelma Fowler Robards. He lived most of his adult life in California.Survived by: Mod, Oma, Christel, Monica, Michael and their families as well as numerous friends. Preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Rex Robards.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday,

Paul Larson

Paul Kerry Larson died on Janaury 13, 1990.  Born April 13, 1947 to Lynn Clifton and Olive Rhea Peacock Larson. Co-owner and manager of the Oaken Bucket where he loved the association of many friends and employees he dealt with daily. His smile and warmth created an environment enjoyed by all.

Survived by Loren T. Johnson, Salt Lake City; brother, Don and Marilyn Larson, Salt Lake City; sister, Karen and Bill Barton, West Valley City; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Gayle Nordell.

An open viewing (with no family) for friends and relatives on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m, McDougal Funeral Golden Rule Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Friends and Family are invited to join in a Celebration for Paul's life beginning on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Martin De Porres Church, 4914 South 2200 West. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Murray City Cemetery.
